Subliminal Maker Master List
Subliminal Maker Master List Here is a master list of subliminal makers. If you see a channel name on this list, that means there’s no current evidence that they are unsafe or deceptive. Please note that not everyone on this list is still actively making subliminals, but they remain on the list in case anyone ends up using something they made in the past. At the end of the list will be channels that have been outed as unsafe or deceptive, but all of them have deleted their channels and videos. If you come across evidence outing a channel as unsafe, please message the mods so we can look into it and update the list! If you are a sub maker (with a verified "creator" flair) and your channel isn't listed here, please message us so we can add you to the list! Feel free to share any new channels that you come across and notice results from and we can update the list as needed. 24 /365 404 not found
[Firearms] Can you use epoxy to modify firearms? Contentious question strikes into heavily primed forum, with impassioned responses quickly filling the chamber, propelling insults and machismo in all directions.
Legal Background
This drama is concerned with consumer modifications to a specific, small subset of imported Kalashnikov-style rifles. These are the highly desirable Saiga Izhmash, and Molot VEPR rifles. The former are often referred to as “true Kalashnikovs” as they were produced in the same Saiga Izhmash factory where Mikhail Kalashnikov, the inventor of the AK platform worked. The latter is highly sought after for their heavy-duty construction, featuring a 50% thicker 1.5mm stamped receiver, and a much stronger barrel from the RPK machine gun. Firearm import laws in the United States are an essential background component to this drama. The Gun Control Act of 1968 in the United States means that a firearm may only be imported into the country under specific circumstances, which range from “scientific testing or research” , the import of an “unserviceable firearm” as a museum / collector’s piece, or “if the firearms or ammunition are of a type generally recognized as particularly suitable or adaptable to ‘sporting purposes.’” The vast majority of civilian imported firearms fall under that latter category. The effects of this legislation are vital to understand the background to this drama. The Kalashnikov manufacturers Saiga Izhmash and Molot Machine Building Plant looked to take advantage of the large consumer firearm market in the United States, and produced a small sampling of Kalashnikov rifles and shotguns for export. These are the aforementioned Saiga and VEPR AKs. In order to abide by import laws as “generally recognized as particularly suitable or adaptable to sporting purposes” a few key modifications were made. The ATF considers high capacity magazines to be contradictory to a rifle “suitable or adaptable to sporting purposes” and rather more indicative of the arm in question being an “assault style rifle” which cannot be imported. As a result, these Russian export rifles were manufactured with a specific magazine well and catch, such that they would not accept standard 30round AK magazines and instead used proprietary 5 or 10 round designs. This was done by extending the receiver’s magazine catch, so that the rear lug of the 30 round magazines won’t lock in place. Most importantly, the Saiga and VEPR do not have a bullet guide on their trunnions.
Mechanical background
What is a bullet guide? Well, exactly what it sounds like. When the magazine is inserted into the rifle, the charging handle is drawn back, and then released to feed a bullet into the chamber and prepare the rifle to fire. We can see the bolt moving forwards and sliding a round out of the magazine and into the chamber here.. Notice how the cartridge slides up a ramp into the chamber? That’s thanks to our friend, the bullet guide. You can see a direct comparison of a standard AK with an integrated bullet ramp, versus the SAIGA / VEPR trunnion without. As one can imagine, that large cliff between the chamber and trunnion would make it difficult to reliably feed a round from the magazine to the chamber. Often, you’d end up just slamming your misaligned round diagonally into the chamber and causing a jam. So how do the SAIGA and VEPR rifles operate without a bullet guide? Well, the extended magazine catch means that the small-capacity proprietary magazines are inserted slightly deeper into the receiver, reducing the height of the “cliff” the bullet needs to ramp over. This in combination with the integrated bullet guide in these small proprietary magazines means the SAIGA and VEPR can reliably feed from the OEM magazine, but not from a standard high-capacity AK magazine. The limit to 5 and 10 round magazines thus allows the ATF to “generally recognize [VEPR and SAIGA AKs] as particularly suitable or adaptable to sporting purposes.” Naturally, a lot of gun owners think it’s worthwhile to modify their SAIGA or VEPR rifles by filing down the magazine catch, and inserting a bullet guide on the trunnion, allowing the rifles to accept standard high-capacity AK magazines. Why limit yourself to 10 rounds when you can make slight changes and fire 30? We can see a successfully installed bullet guide here. Here’s how it looks with the magazine inserted.. These are very common, near-compulsory modifications found on the Saiga and VEPR AKs. What’s the best way to attach this bullet guide? Well, that’s where the drama begins.
Glued to your seats: The Drama Begins
On April 5, 2010, a user named Mossberg Man posts in the Saiga forum looking for advice on the installation of his bullet guide.
The suggestion of using an epoxy to affix a small but important piece for the reliable operation of the rifle meets with mixed reviews. The majority of early comments are gentle advisements against using JB Weld, in favor of the traditional drill + screw.
Things begin to escalate rather quickly however, once more experienced forum members, one of which is a licensed FFL / gunsmith, curtly shuts down the epoxy suggestion.
A user named Stansplace who will prominently feature in the upcoming drama makes his first comment here, repudiating the suggestion to glue your firearm together. He gives some advice to deal with the anxiety of drilling a hole in your gun instead.
Another user, KlassyKalashnikov comes in to spice up the forum by pointing out that while JB Weld probably isn’t a good idea for a firearm, it can be used to bond your TV remotes together so you won’t lose them!
In case I somehow lose this monster of a remote, I’ll probably JB the damn thing to the nightstand.
If you read their packaging there's even a testimonial on how it patched a cracked engine block. (And the engine had 10% more horsepower and 15% better gas mileage after the repair.) And to put the icing on the cake, it's made right here in the Lone Star State. You know, Texans never lie.
That's nothing! Using JB weld and a dremel, I filled two cavities in my teeth! Ok, maybe not
With an established consensus that using an epoxy to modify your firearm is a bad idea, Mossberg Man returns to update everyone on his decision to tap and drill the bullet guide.
Well this is why I used this forum for feedback before going forward with anything. I want everyone to know that based on the minimal feedback I received based on my topic (laughing as I am typing) I will move forward with the tapping of the receiver. Thank you everyone for all of the input.
Wait- That’s it? Just a few comments, some gentle ribbing, and the epoxy is anticlimactically off the table? Well, not quite.
Epoxy Stans enter the picture
Sure, many people pointed out that an epoxy designed to glue a variety of materials together may not be suitable so near the chamber of a firearm, but a couple users aren’t going to drop it that easily. Eclipsing perhaps even Mossberg Man as the centerpiece of this decade-old shit-flinging is the user Rhodes1968. He enters the picture not only defending JB Weld, but claiming it holds up better than the rifle itself in extended testing.
What like no one has ever seen a screw come loose? I knew this argument was coming again damit. Took her out again Sunday now have about 2500 rounds over that JB welded bullet guide. The only thing Im noticing is the metal wears a bit faster than the JB. Now yes I did it correctly and took my time but if a little screw threaded though a thin piece of stamped receiver works so will JB. Hell tick everyone off and put JB on the screw threads and then weld the sucker on there. There is so little stress on this part I cant believe its even an issue. Do yourself a favor no matter what you do and slightly polish that edge the rounds contact, it doesn't need to be sharp and has been the ONLY problem Ive heard of after getting the guide installed. PS: One unexpected benefit to the JB I wasn't planning on. If you are using Corrosive mil-surp ammo the JB seals the bottom of the guide much better than metal to metal preventing any salts from getting under the guide and yes those are very small particles. Just a small little detail.
The bullet guide slides under the barrel preventing it from lifting out. It also slides up next to the barrel, preventing movement towards the chamber (in the same direction as the bullet). The only thing the screw does is prevent the thing from moving REARWARD. Now, what forces are acting on the bullet guide in the rearward position? Recoil. That's it. Recoil. JB Weld + 2,000 rounds of 5.45x39. No issues. Not saying it's the right way, but I'm saying, it's MY right way.
Well after the two posts confirming JB weld works I am sorry to say everyone but I have to go for it now, so I will post some pics of how I do it and then post some vids of how the first range test goes. I am going to stick with my gut instinct on this one. Maybe I will start a new thread just for JB's that have worked who knows...lol This goes over about as expected.
This actually goes surprisingly well, and Machismo recognizes Machismo.
Yep, that is pretty much my opinion too. I love it! I also like it when a man walks his own path, even if he is wrong. I have been there and done that. Good luck.
Stansplace I knew if anyone here would understand you would!...lol Like I said thank you to all who have posted I will certainly post updates as I move forward with my unorthodox conversion!!
Dang guys hes not going to put the whole rifle together with it just a bullet guide that might possibly be held in place with bubble gum.
Oh shit bubble gum I never even thought of that!! Forget threading the barrel (found out today mine is not threaded) I will chew a bunch of Hubba bubba and then jam it into the muzzlebreak and jam it on the end I figure the first round will clear out any residual gum still in the barrel...Rhodes thanks for the tip you are the man!! LOL
Remember, use the Red Hubba bubba for permanent, blue or green for temporary bond...
And don't forget that low viscosity Green Hubba Bubba will penetrate into existing assembled threads. So if you want, you can smear it all over your rifle.
Hey guys check out this sweet new tactical home defense shotgun. It has the all new, top of the line, military grade D.U.C.T. mounting system which attaches everything from bayonets, to flashlights, to extra rounds, even an extra gun.
Others pounce at the chance to prolong the engagement.
Sensing that the memes and levity are drowning out the very serious advice about using epoxy to keep a bullet guide in place, another user joins the fray to share some VERY NOT SUBTLE racist implications about what type of people would install a bullet guide with epoxy.
Its still Ghetto no matter how many excuses you make.....it would actually be less work to just put the real bullet guide in..... edited redneck for "ghetto" because I dont even think a redneck would do that.
Sure! And when you drive to the post office to pick it up, make sure you don't wear a seat belt.
It seems that despite the disagreement, detractors are agreeing to disagree with Mossberg, and wish him best of luck. Another rather anti-climactic conclusion to this debate.
With so much doubt surrounding the capability of JB weld I am starting to want to see some evidence supporting the claims that JB weld is not up to the very, very simple task of holding one piece of metal to another piece of metal while a relatively small amount of force is going to be applied directly to that piece of metal. The same job that we are trusting a very small screw to do instead- a screw small enough that everyone would probably break it if it used a bolt head instead of an allen head.
BINGO Schneiderman. in 1.6mm sheet metal too! That's what? 2 or 3 threads at the most? PSH.
Enlighten me Bob As far as I can tell all the forces on chambering are towards the barrel (Which the BG can't move in that direction because it's touching the barrel already) and all the forces on recoil are rearward, which, actually the BG would resist the recoil pulse, thus wanting to move forward again. IN fact, I'm thinking you don't need much to hold a BG in place. Maybe some double-sided tape? Nothing wants the BG to move backwards. All the forces are down and forward and it can't move in that direction at all. I don't see the issue.
Exactly why I use the JB, its better than a screw since the adhesion is distributed across a much larger surface. This thing comes up about every few months and always goes exactly like this one. Rivet is better than a screw also. The only thing with substances like JB is that you just cant be sloppy because they call it weld for a good reason.
Here's the thing; I have a degree in mechanical engineering so maybe it's more obvious to me than it is to you. I'd say the biggest hurdles in this design are the thermal issues (not it's heat resistance as previously mentioned...expansion coefficient problems are hard on bond joints) and the high number of cycles.
OK. Can't stand it anymore. It isn't necessarily heat which overcomes the elasticity of epoxy resin compounds like "JB Weld", it is the rapid expansion and contraction characteristics of the surrounding materials being very different from the composite material "JB Weld" which stresses, and ultimately defeats the molecular bond or "weld". It does not expand - contract - move at a similar rate and the stress causes failure (see "Haiti" - "Concrete" - "Earthquake" - Wikipedia).
After 4 days of constant drama and bickering over how to secure the bullet guide, the OP Mossberg Man returns with a new much less contentious question. This quickly snuffs out the embers of the seemingly-inexhaustible controversy. Mossberg Man’s new inquiries about barrel length and muzzle brake modifications are duly answered, and the drama dies… until a few weeks later.
I know this thread is past it a bit, but it got me worryng about bullet guides (with and without screws).. If the screw backs out and the guide comes up.. won't the gun just jam? Couple of people here seemed to think a bullet guide coming loose was a recipe for imminent doom.. Just wondering since yall have me worried everytime I shoot now.
I have always been fond of the cold gulash color myself. Also one final note just to make the purists crazy!! I did mine with nothing but JB Weld let it set overnight and to this day I have put about 200 rounds over it. So there....lol
200 rounds ain't shit. You haven't really tested it yet. I'm what you might call a purist.. to a point anyway. Yeah, my bullet guide is rivetted in, (the same way it's attached at the factory), and yeah, I have just a little more faith in this method of attachment than muhfuckin JB Weld. Let us know how that shit's holdin up at about the 2.5-3k round mark, Mossberg.
Pretty well brother just keeps on feeding way over 2.5k rounds judging from the ammo Ive had to replace. Some wear on the upper portion of the guide that indicates a downward force which of course is cool and since I polished the lead edge of the guide first that is doing wonderfully well. But hey I just like tweaking convention.
Over 2 years later…
Just under 2 years from the day Mossberg Man initially posted his question, a new user visits the graveyard of glue drama asking for advice on how to recover his bullet guide installation. It turns out, in another win for the epoxy advocates, the drill and tap method has quite a few steps that can go awry, including the tap shattering, and getting stuck in the action of your rifle.
I'm up Sh*ts Creek on this one...... Finished a full 922 conversion on mine and last step was the bullet guide. Got through the trunnion with the tap and on the very last rotation i was making I went just past an 8th of a turn and snap. Tap cracked right off in the trunnion.
I am with the others on here that have used JB Weld. That was not my first choice, as I broke the tap off as well. I realize it is not the "best option", but mine is holding up just fine.
Same here. Broke the tap in my 5.45, JB'd it in. It's held up for 250 rounds so far. I'm going to get it tack welded in though, just to be safe.
how long has your BG been JB'd on, Semper? Im thinking about JB'ing my BG on too... all the numbers i have seen regarding its performance seem to put it well within the operational tolerances for that particular area in the rifle.
4k rounds through a BG held with JB. Guy that bought it hasnt had an issue either. For that part JB may be even better than a screw. Just have to do the job right. Some people have used both.
Summary
Due to importation laws, a selection of desirable AK47-pattern rifles require aftermarket modifications to accept and feed from standard high-capacity AK magazines. While these modifications are quite simple and require just filing down a magazine catch lever, and the insertion of a bullet guide in the trunnion, the methods of doing this are contentious. Many people are drawn strongly to the convenience and simplicity of using an epoxy to glue down these guides, while others are horrified at the possible dangers of the glue failing. Even further, there are elitists, self-satisfied with riveting their bullet guides, like the factory does, thank you very much. In all, there is drama to milk for weeks and even years in this divide in the firearm modification community. Happily, despite their differences, the Saiga / VEPR community is held together through mutual respect as strongly as JB Weld can hold a bullet guide.
What did the FED reveal yesterday after the meeting? FedEx reports today after Lennar smashed earnings results. Is today the stimulus deadline? Let’s talk about this and other stock market news ~Very Long Post~ Hello everyone and Good Morning! So, let’s start with the recap of yesterday, as we saw the Nasdaq Composite leading the way up 0.5% and closing at a new record high, with the broad stock market SP500 also finishing in the green, up 0.18% and ended over the 3700 level for just the 2nd time in history, while the Dow Industrial lagged and lost 0.15%. We also saw the VIX continuing to drop 1.7%, back to some more normal levels after the recent spike near 25. Despite the broad market rally yesterday, about 55% of companies were losing ground on average volume, as we saw the Tech and Consumer Discretionary sectors leading the way, while the only sector losing more than 1% for the day was the Utilities sector. As only Large-Cap growth companies from the tech sector finished in the green, while small-caps and especially value play lagged behind. You can see in this HEAT MAP that most of the big tech names, Microsoft, Amazon, NFLX and even Alibaba which has suffered lately finished up well into the green, while the industrials and utilities were a big block of red. We also got some economic data yesterday, with business inventories rising more than expected as sales increased by 0.9% month over month. We also saw retail sales falling 1.1% in November from the previous month, but this may be misleading, as sales actually rose by more than 4% year over year and by almost 6% after stripping out auto, gas and retail sales. We also continue to see the housing demand market being strong as the housing market index was down from the previous month, but came in at the second highest level ever. One last number that we got was a reading on the December PMI, which came in at 55.7, below expectations and the last month number. This was the lowest reading in three months as growth momentum keeps slowing down as more restrictions are re-imposed, but this is still a strong expansion of the manufacturing and services. Today we will get some critical economic data, starting with initial and continuing jobless claims and housing starts, while we will also see get other important numbers later in the day. So, we also got the AAII survey yesterday, which for me personally, was a good indicator that stocks may still go up, as the bullish number of investors declined by 4.6%, with most of them switching to a neutral view of the stock market. There are still a lot more investors that are bullish compared to the historical average of 38% but, this is an improving in the last weeks, as this is a very good contrarian indicator. When more people tend to be bearish that is usually a good sign that you should just go and buy stocks, as you can mostly buy them at a discount, while when to many people are bullish, there is a significantly bigger risk of a pullback or correction nearing the stock market. Yesterday we saw the FED keeping rates unchanged and signaling that they will continue to keep a near-zero rate through 2023 to support the economic recovery. They also announced that the economy is expected to contract by only 2.4% in 2020, that is a big improvement from a contraction of 3.7% previously expected. They also expect the economy to grow by 4.2% next year and by more than 3% in 2022, with both revisions also being up from the previous estimates. They also vowed to keep buying bonds until there is substantial economic progress in the US, so they are expected to continue to buy $120B, with $80B in Treasury securities and another $40B in mortgage-backed securities. Other revisions in the projected economic data also showed an improved outlook in the unemployment rate, which is expected to drop to 3.7% by 2023. The FED Chief Powell also reinforced the commitment to aid the economy with even more easing if it deems it necessary while also suggesting they will give ample warning before tapering bond purchases. This was happening while the congress was still haggling over details on a bigger $900B relief BILL. We also saw a major change from the last day as now it is expected that it will include a 600$ stimulus check and extended unemployment benefits. I think this must be agreed on as soon as today if it stands a chance of passing by the end of the week, even if Congress leaders have repeatedly told they will remain in session as long as needed, even working through the weekend, they should just put their act together and pass the stuff they can agree on so that uncertainty goes away, at least for the moment. We also have some interesting earnings reports coming today with FedEx, BlackBerry and General Mills. FedEx is expected to post an EPS of over 4$, that would be up almost 60% over last year with an operating Margin of 7.1%. FedEx has also just received an upgrade from Credit Suisse based on accelerating e-commerce trends with a longer and stronger holiday season than expected. JABIL just reported while writing this post a nice surprise due to the high demand in the new Apple lineup, with a beat of 34 cents on earnings and almost $800M on revenues. The stock skyrocketed after the release. We also got Lennar earnings after the close yesterday, as they beat the estimates easily, while also offering better numbers in new orders and guidance. As they expect more than 62K deliveries and 24% gross margins in FY 2021, that is up from 53K and a 20.6% gross margin in FY2020, this pushed the stock up 3% in after hours, in an unexpected move to the upside for me, despite my expectations for a great quarter for the company. In other stock market news, we saw Roku gaining more than 5% in after-hours, after they finally reached an agreement with Warner Media to make HBO Max available directly to their streaming business. Meanwhile, gambling seems to be getting a boost every other day, as the most recent comment from Cuomo, made investors feel like gambling could become a big source of income for the state of New York. This boosted companies like DraftKings and Penn Gaming even more, as gambling is coming faster than expected in the entire country. DraftKings also managed to strike a deal to launch a brand-new retail gift card just in time for the holiday season. This will be available in multiple convenience stores and is a good way for DraftKings to attract even more users to their platform in my opinion. We Also saw companies lose ground yesterday like Fiverr which dropped in early trading before recovering to finish -2% for the day, after a report that Facebook is eyeing an entry into the gig business, this would be a major competitor that could eat up a lot of growth that Fiverr expected Let’s hope for another great day in the market as the FUTURES seem to be pointing at a good open, hopefully some green action continues after that. Thank you everyone for reading! Hope you enjoyed the content! Be sure to leave a comment down below with your opinion on the stock market! Don't forget to check out myYouTube Channel! Have a great day and see you next time!
Nugu Roundup #53 - Fanatic Idols and Where to Find Them - 200823 + Album Giveaway
Hello and welcome to the latest Nugu Roundup! What is this?: This is a weekly feature designed to highlight the unknown/underappreciated groups and soloists working hard in the Kpop world that often fall under the radar. Please share your own information, favorite performance videos, fanmeet stories, or anything else relevant below! Last week we spent some time in the swamp with BLACK6IX. This week let's check out a girl group that's easy to be a fan of, let's get to know Fanatics! Look at the first comment below for the winner of the eighth Nugu Roundup Album Giveaway, plus details on this week's album up for grabs! What is Nugu?: While in Korean it literally means 'Who' in the broader Kpop context it refers to groups that are generally unknown amongst the greater public. It doesn't have to mean they're extremely new, though it can, and there are of course varying degrees of 'unknown' which some groups having very strong niche fandoms and others being almost invisible. I take a fairly broad view and will include groups that may be known to some, but who don't have widespread name recognition. Let's get on with the show... ________________________________________________________ Fanatics Who are they?: Fanatics are an 8 member girl group under FENT. Their group name represents their desire for people to become very passionate fanatics about their music. They're somewhat unique in that they've had three title releases thus far but each has had a different member lineup. Company: FENT, short for Fascino Entertainment, is primarily an acting agency, with Fanatics being their only music group. The agency was founded by Yoon Tae-joon, a former member of the 1st-gen boy group Eagle 5 (High School's company RichWorld was also founded by a former Eagle 5 member). Group Interviews
Facts: She joined the group after the soft-debut with the Flavor subunit. She is the oldest member and the company originally instructed her to hide her age, but she argued that she didn't want hide it and that idols older than her had debuted so they eventually relented. She was previously a member of an unnamed pre-debut girl group but the company failed and the group didn't debut. She majored in acting in college, can play the piano and the guitar, and is a talented painter. Her parents bought 100 copies of the group's debut album (5% of the total sales) and 140 copies of the second (10% of the total sales). She is said to be the best cook in the group, and especially likes samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) and soups.

Song: The lead single from the group's 2nd EP Plus Two, this saw members Chaelin and Yoonhye take a temporary hiatus and the addition of members Via and Rayeon. The song itself is a romanization of the Korean word for 'Barbie' which is played up in the MV and is also a backronym for 'Variety, Adorable, Versatile, Independent'.
Composers/Producers:MADEWELL (no other credits found), YOSKE (Momoland - Pinky Love, Nature - Bing Bing, Ailee/Jiwoo/Hyoyeon - GG), John East (no other credits found)
Trivia: SangA of Pink Fantasy was a pre-debut member of the group but transferred to MyDoll Entertainment before debut. Their company doesn't place restriction on them for mobile phone use and while they set goals for them for weight before comebacks they let the members manage their own diets to hit their goals. All of the members are fond of jokbal (braised pig's feet) and gamjatang (pork spine soup). The concept of the group is that the members taking part in each comeback will change and vary based on the concept of the album. The group doesn't all live in a dorm together but does live close to one another. Doi has her own apartment, Via, Rayeon, and Doah live in an apartment below in the same building, Sika and Chiayi live together in another building, and Chaelin and Yoonhye live together. The group's composition is similar to G-IDLE with Korean, Chinese, and Taiwanese members. ________________________________________________________ Soloist of the Week Jung Dae Hyun/Daehyun/Baby Hyun Who is he?: A male soloist under STX Lion Heart Entertainment. He has composed a number of songs for B.A.P and written two of his solo songs as well. He says he is happiest when he is on stage singing, and is known to become very emotional while on stage. ________________________________________________________ IN MEMORIAM AxisB Who were they?: A five member boy group under AXB Entertainment and RB Entertainment. Their name came from combining 'Axis' meaning 'the center around which things revolve' and 'B' for Boys, representing their desire to be a group at the center of Kpop. Releases

Nugu Roundup #47 - I Saw the Sign - 200712 + Album Giveaway
Hello and welcome to the latest Nugu Roundup! What is this?: This is a weekly feature designed to highlight the unknown/underappreciated groups and soloists working hard in the Kpop world that often fall under the radar. Please share your own information, favorite performance videos, fanmeet stories, or anything else relevant below! Last week we spent time with an established band under a new name, OneWe. This week focus on a group founded on social responsibility who uses their music and promotions to bring light to important issues - let's get to know Flor_us! Look at the first comment below for the winner of the second Nugu Roundup Album Giveaway, plus details on this week's album up for grabs! ________________________________________________________ Flor_us (also sometimes Flor.us) Who are they?: Flor_us is a four member girl group under YEOM Entertainment. Their name comes from a combination of 'Flor' for Flower and 'Us' meaning 'Us' and shows their intention to address issues to help the world bloom through their music and dance. They recently announced their fandom name as 'Of You'. Company: Flor_us appears to be the only artists under YEOM Entertainment. The company's statement about the group is "YEOM Entertainment rejects the idea of manufacturing idols and chose these girls to debut based on their values instead of on height, weight, visuals or idol experience. As a social enterprise we want to promote good values." YEOM is classified as a Social Enterprise, a special class of business in South Korea. Special Note: I'd wanted to do this group previously, but had been putting it off due to a lack of English content on them. I decided to go ahead this week because this group is something special and I've really fallen in love with them, but many of the linked interviews are in Korean without subtitles, so I suppose the Korean speakers here can enjoy them (and it was a good reminder that I need to get back on the horse in my goal of learning the language). Group Interviews
Facts: She has degrees in Social Welfare and Psychology and has a Social Worker 1st Class license. She is a big fan of FT Island. She had always wanted to try singing and dancing since she was a kid so jumped on the opportunity when it arose. She says their pre-debut song 'Because of You' has the dual meaning of the group existing because of the people who listen to them and that everyone needs a song and they hope people who feel neglected can listen to it and feel appreciated. Her special issue is child social welfare and the prevention of child abuse.
Facts: She was a trainee at an unscrupulous company that took 3 million won ($2,500 USD) from her for a 'lesson fee' and made her sign contracts that she didn't understand, then one day she arrived to see all of the luggage packed in the practice room and she realized it was a scam. She was attracted to YEOM because of their focus on social issues. She says she was tired of seeing problems in the news but no one ever doing anything about it, she realized that many people faced the same issues she did and since she gained strength through music she wanted to reach out to help others in that way. He role model is Baek Yerin. Her special cause is anti-war.
Facts: She was a victim of school bullying. She was previously with another company but disliked that they were pushing her to wear clothes that were more revealing than she was comfortable with. She decided to audition for the group because she saw the audition notice that said they were just looking for talented people and did not care about age, weight, or appearance, and she appreciated those values. She would like to do songs about things that impact the lives of teenagers. She was a driving force behind the group's decision to start releasing sign language covers of songs so that people who can't hear the music can still appreciate it.
Facts: She was a nurse in a veterinary hospital for several years, and that experience taught her compassion. Because of that she would like to start a campaign to help save endangered species and do a song about animal abuse. She wants to help end puppy-mills and says that dogs aren't robots so shouldn't come from a factory. She is in charge of choreography for the group. Her role model is Hyeri from Girl's Day. She feels that though the subjects their songs cover are difficult the soothing sound of their music makes them easier to listen to.
Debut: December 24th, 2018 with Masquerade (The Party is Over) (MV) Live Performance (Link)
Song: The lead single from their debut EP flor_u[s]chool, this song tells the story of school violence through the eyes of the perpetrator, using the metaphor of a mask for school bullies disguising their own pain about their actions behind a false bravado.
Composter: Kim Gi-hwan (no other credits beyond Flor_us found)
Most Recent Comeback: February 11th, 2020 with Alive (MV) Live Performance (Link) Dance Practice (Link) Choreography Video (Link) Official Color Coded Lyric Video (Link)
Song: The song tells the autobiographical story of the group, with the official blurb stating "'We are here,' We go on our own way not following the universal standard set by people. Through this song, we comfort those who are wandering in a stark reality and unstable future. At the same time we support everybody who quietly enduring in silence, living day by day toward their dreams"
Song: A pre-debut release, a song dedicated to all of 'You' who give them a reason to dance and sing, as well as a song for anyone who may feel like no one cares about them to let them know that they are special and can take inspiration and energy from the music
Composer: Kim Gi-hwan (see above)
Voice (The voice of the sad one) (MV) Dance Practice (Link)
Song: The second promoted song from their debut EP flor_u[s]chool this moody electro-pop song tells the story of school violence from the perspective of witnesses to the actions, and encourages people not to turn away from victims and to take action. The MV was inspired by the independent film Bystander produced by Giheung High School students (link).
Song: The final release from their debut EP flor_u[s]chool, this touching ballad expresses their desire for those affected by school violence to move past the painful reality and find solace even in dreams. It was written by and based on the experiences of member Suhwa.
Composers: Kim Gi-hwan (see above) Suhwa (lyrics) (group member)
Trivia: The group members were all over 20 when they joined the company and met for the first time, which is older than most groups start, but they say it benefits them because they can get along with each other better being more mature. All of the members experienced school violence, either as victims or as bystanders, and that was the inspiration for the theme of their first album. The members say that YEOM is not imposing trainee debt on them, does not require or recommend any plastic surgery, and is teaching them English and Japanese so that they can reach more fans across the world. The group promoted heavily by busking during the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. ________________________________________________________ Soloist of the Week ELDON Who is he?: A male soloist under V Entertainment, he is also the vocalist of the pop-duo Martin Smith. Company: V Entertainment, based in Hongdae, Seoul (an area known for live music) is a young company focusing on more independent artists. In addition to Eldon they represent his duo Martin Smith and the electro-rock-hip-hop group BEATBURGER. Real Name: Jung Hyuk Debut: January 11th, 2019 with Ghost! (MV) Live Performance (Link)

Most Recent Comeback: February 14th, 2020 with Fighting! (MV) Live on KBS Radio (Link)
Song: A nice laid back vocal piece with a fun quirky MV.
Trivia: Eldon first appeared as part of Martin Smith in 2015 during Superstar K7 where the duo made it into the top 5 in the competition then later released their first music in 2016. Special thanks to u/gingergarlicgoodness for turning me on to him. ________________________________________________________ IN MEMORIAM SPECTRUM Who were they?: A six (originally seven) member boy group under WYNN Entertainment. In an amusing anecdote from their debut the group apparently ravaged the foods that were provided for them in the waiting room, eating 14 hotteok (sweet stuffed Korean pancakes), 40 dumplings, several orders of tteokbokki, 20 drinks, 12 bottles of water, and a tray of Subway sandwiches that fans brought for them. ___________________________________________________ That's it for today, let's get the discussion on! Last week we got in the zone with We In the Zone. This week I'm changing things up a bit. We've been seeing a ton of new debuts lately, and it's easy and exciting to hope all of them make it big. However, the Kpop scene is full of groups who debuted then disappeared, and they deserve some love too, so this week let's check out some groups that never had the chance to make it to that first comeback. ________________________________________________________ Note: Criteria for these are groups that have only a single release (digital single, single album, or EP), and who have debuted in 2018 or earlier. These groups aren't necessarily disbanded (and it's rare, though not unheard of, for some nugu groups to suddenly re-appear after a multi-year hiatus) and if anyone has news about any of them having current activities, please share. I'm not including sub-units or special project groups. ________________________________________________________ Oh!Bliss

I finally finished Umineko (spoiler free + spoiler thoughts)
I believe the best way to start summing up my feelings about the journey is 'fuck...'. This was the most slow-burning fiction experience I ever had, but at the same time the most intense one. I read Umineko over a few months and couldn't get it out of my mind during the duration of the whole thing. Thinking about, what, how, why of many things, it was truly a magical experience. SPOILER FREE The best thing that I've read about Umineko before starting it is that it changed the way some people think for good. As someone who is very established in the way I see the world and a huge lover of philosophy I thought that just the opportunity for that would be insanely fun, but I never actually believed that a work of fiction could actually do that for me. Luckily for me I couldn't have been more wrong. While I won't pretend I fully understand Umineko yet, I am truly grateful for being able to experience it, and to anyone who is on the edge and considering reading it, I cannot recommend it enough, and if by the end of this post one person decides to read it I will be more than happy. For me personally, I expected a big mindfuck mystery from the very little I knew about Umineko, so from the beginning I was taking notes and trying to solve and assign meaning to every detail I noticed, constantly making theories that were shot down by the blood red truth of what actually happened in every episode. Most of the time Battler was behind me in what he thought was going on so not being able to get my theories denied/confirmed made the moments where I got answers so much more satisfying, and the places where I knew I was wrong that much more eye-opening to the whole mystery/truth of Rokkenjima and it's inhabitants. What I got however was not a mystery novel, but a love letter to the genre and a thesis on truth that I never would've accepted in any other form than the way Umineko showed me, which is maybe why I love it so much now. It's so well written that when you read it the second time you are reading a different novel. Manga vs VN - I talked with some people who read the manga because the VN is too long. While I only read a bit of the manga (first 3 episodes), I didn't find it having the same warm feeling like the VN for me. The thing that it's getting praised the most seems to be that it changed the thing that I loved the most about the visual novel. I will not get deeply into it but I love how Ryukishi07 gave us an opportunity to check our theories, without actually revealing what happened, which actually lead to my favorite experience with the game. Most fun I've had with a VN After I finished episode 7, I was armed with all the information I needed to solve all the mysteries in the first 4 episodes and be sure weather I was right or wrong. So my girlfriend and I opened up episode 7's climax in one chrome window, opened up the red truths from the first 4 episodes in the other and made our theories. We went one by one and over the course of 5 hours we solved the first 3 games by going over the red and what we thought was important, making our theories and then waiting for umineko e7 character name to lay out what he knows. Whenever we got something wrong we'd go back and continue theorizing. The most fun one to solve was game 3, and the one that we got the grasp of but couldn't 100% solve alone was game 4. Now before I move into the spoiler territory, I would strongly advise everyone who wants to read Umineko to stop now. I won't be using spoiler tags because they look ugly and are finnicky on some phones. Before I go however, I will leave you with a few pieces of the Umineko OST, which is one of the best parts of it. Due to spoilery images I will only use the ones from the first four episodes, even though all 8 are filled with amazing pieces of music. I'll sort them by adjectives. Heartbreaking, tense, whimsical, happy, elegant, hopeful, serene, magical. All of these adjectives describe what Umineko was for me, and each of these songs, like many in the giant OST the game has personify those feelings perfectly. SPOILER TERRITORY Finally here. I feel that no matter what I write will do justice to how I feel about Umineko, but before reading other people's thoughts I wanted to write this post, to get everything out of my head. Umineko has been a huge part of me these few months and will remain a huge part of me for a long time. What started with me taking notes to break down the game before I get the answers turned into a journey where I learned some life lessons that I couldn't have learned anywhere and changed some thoughts and opinions that I held very strongly. From seeing first-hand what an awful childhood can make people feel, witnessing their delusions first hand in the most heartbreaking way possible, to going through the journey with Ange to change my world-view and understanding that coping with the cold world in your own way instead of accepting the rigid truth and 'dealing with it' is not awful and sometime is needed. The moment when Beato's candy trick was clearly broken down through Ange's eyes and the question popped up I weeped like a baby. I've never seen such a good way to conclude a story, and was really surprised to see in some comment threads that episode 8 is not universally loved. One thing I do not understand is why do people love Bern so much. She was a good antagonist, but her actions never felt personal like Erika for example. Smh. I am currently on a journey to trying to figure out Bern's and Lambda's meaning and place in the story since it's the thing that has been bothering me the most. I can kind of see the whole tea party arc happening inside of Battler's (Tohya's) head as he is trying to come to terms and figure out exactly what happened and what the message bottles mean, what has happened and how it affects Ange, seeing everything as a game between him and Beato and slowly realizing the deeper meaning behind everything. And maybe having the two of them basically be personification of Hachijo who he's sharing the story with. But their place in the story for episodes 5 and 6, and specially how Bern is the game master and her role in 7 and 8 is very confusing. One possible explanation is that since the story is written by Hachijo is that it's her way of spicing it up and displaying her internal clash of views inside of her, viewing her cat as the ultimate thirst for truth/logic inside of the events, the will to butcher the stories to pieces and dissect everything like a curious kitty, and Lambda as her inner child who wants to believe in magic and strive for a happy resolution that is kind of afraid to surface cause she believes that the child-like innocence is foolish. Favorite moments My favorite moments were usually the moments of realization, like realizing what the duel of lovers meant, putting chick Beatrice into perspective, drawing parallels between Kinzo and Battler, the who dunnit, identities of magical creatures/demons, meaning of magic (this one was kinda devastating, as I realized it during EP 4 while watching Ange getting bullied, I had suspicions before that but I was 100% sure at that point). One part I was kind of disappointed was the one on one mystery game in EP8. It was too easy after everything the game had, or I had a lucky train of thought, but the purple being 'each child confirmed their parent's deaths' made the puzzle very obvious from early on, I just needed to read all purples for contradictions to be sure. My favorite moment in the whole series would be the broken "Who am I?" from the EP4 tea party. Along with the music and the obviously hurt feelings because Battler didn't remember, I felt like I owed Beato to figure it out. I already suspected that the ending of EP3 was Beato purposefully throwing the win away by returning to the evil witch persona so that Battler would refuse to become complacent, she wanted someone to understand her, and that final line from Beato made me think so damn much about the VN. Also I am insanely happy with how respectfully Will ended Beatrice. It was the best possible ending in my opinion for her, she wanted someone to understand and he did, without revealing the mysteries to the reader, and giving the reader a chance to understand as well. And to cap it all out, here are some of my favorite screenshots from Umineko, I didn't take many pics, but some of them are either hilarious or badass even without context, so it might be fun to view, in no particular order, here's the random stuff I found funny/interesting. Erika being herself again, Battler being a madlad, Lambda being the best girl, Dlanor being the cutest girl, Beato getting ready to give me trust issues, Mahou Shojo EVA Magica. I just realized I have way too many of these, from One Piece reference in Ange's future books to badass scenes like the Ushiromiya eagle and Maria and Rosa standing together back to back in their element, Battler welcoming everyone to his and Beato's game in EP6 in the rain after jumping out of the window. So many memorable moments it's impossible to list them all without reading again. EDIT: Let me throw in a couple of more favorite moments, I can't stop thinking about this now that I've finished writing. Beato showing up in the garden in the Battler's game for the first time for real in Chiru, Will criticizing the goats and teaching them about the mystery genre, Lion becoming brave and responsible after learning the truth about the existence of Yasu, the 16 people revelation, learning that Eva was broken by the truth and not only her selfish reasons and still loved Ange, The whole damn magic ending, Battler's persona being laid to rest in the Golden land after seeing the Funukin house, Erika's introduction, the meaning of UuUu, Lambdadelta. General random thoughts - The real truth is probably most likely something similar to episode 7 teaparty. The story ended perfectly and showing anything more would've been doing a disservice to the story. Yasu might've not escaped with Battler on October the 6th, it might've been him being overwhelmed and killing himself after processing everything alone out in the boat. The best OST track is Birth of new witch. Ryukishi07 did nothing wrong by calling out some of the readers. Genji is the most awful person on the island, being aware of everything and being able to be a fatherly figure to Yasu and set her on a right path, he indulged all of their whims. Closing thoughts I will keep this short, and I feel that saying anything but Umineko being the deepest and most enjoyable piece of literature, or hell, any fiction, I ever experienced would be lying. I hope many people will be able to experience it and enjoy it, and I am looking forward to being a part of many discussions that I saw before on this sub, but skipped so I don't get spoiled. Only bad thing about this whole experience is that my bar for calling something a masterpiece has now risen to insane hights, as it should be :). Thank you for reading my jumbled thoughts, I hope it was fun for people who love it to hear me gushing about it without much coherence and theories, I had to get this out of my system. Hope you all have a wonderful day!
While logged in to MetaMask or your Web3 browser with the Ethereum account that owns your .ETH names, search for your early .ETH names. Then click the button “Return” near the top to get your deposit back from the old system. (Note: For names you registered after the switch to a spent annual fee model, there’s no fee to return to you.)
2) Renew your names
On the same page for your name in the ENS Manager, you’ll need to renew your .ETH name to keep it. Most names cost just $5 a year (with 3 and 4 character .ETH names costing more), and you can pay ahead. That means, you can add one year of registration to your name for $5, or add 10 years for $50. If you don’t renew your old .ETH names, they will be released in August for other people to register. So renew your names! All names registered since last May with the new system will also need to be renewed over the next year (if you hadn’t already paid ahead). Halloween edition… the scariest thing would be NOT participating!
Hey y’all, Underrated [FRESH] Threads is back for the fourth time and I’ve rewritten the intro every time because I hate myself. You can skip the intro but you'd better post. Picture this: Your fave releases a new song/video/album, and it’s great! Bright eyed, you think to yourself “/popheads is gonna love this!” Brimming with excitement, you post it to the sub and almost instantly you get a notification! Oh wait, it’s just auto mod reminding you to flair your post. You take her good natured advice and sap on that [FRESH] flair so all 100k+ popheads know that you bring only the freshest of tunes. However as the hours pass, there is silence. You think to yourself “did the post not go through?” You click on the sub. A Peppa Pig post sits at the top of the front page, then several links to tweets (“shouldn’t those be non-newsworthy/tabloid material?” you think), some fluff articles about sub faves, a few discussion posts ("Melodrama*" you think to yourself), assorted releases from sub faves, and waaaayy down at the bottom of Page 3, with seven up votes (and four downvotes for some reason) sits your post. You’re shocked! Your post was a total bop/bangewig-snatch, how come no one was paying attention? As your eyes adjust to the depths of the sub, you notice the posts around yours. [FRESH] flairs litter the screen like fallen soldiers. No wonder no one was listening to your post, it was positively buried! They were probably listening to all of these songs, right? And then it hits you… none of the posts have comments. You’re shaken to the core. You scramble to find a name that you recognize, a post title that would grab you, but your search comes up empty. Who are all of these artists? Who even cares? Is it possible that tons of music gets posted to the sub every month and most of it goes unlistened to because it’s hard to tell at a glance what’s actually interesting and what’s just spam? And worse, was your post meaningless filler? “No,” you think to yourself. “My thread is better than this! [INSERT OBSCURE FAVE] releases quality content, if only there was some kind of curated space/event where I could let everyone know how good this post is!” Well now you can!
How this thread works:
In the comments below, link to the [FRESH] threads posted songs within the last month (after September 29th) that you feel very strongly about, with the genre in parentheses beside it (however you describe it). Also include a little blurb as well where you try to sell the song to potential listeners. They'll be edited into the post.
Preferably it would look something like this:
(Genre) Artist Name - Song Title: Description (Energetic Bubblegum Pop) Anonymous Pop Girl - Bop Song: The production! The vocals! Listen to this if you want your wig snatched!
Feel free to talk as much as you want, if your pitch is too long I’ll edit it down and link to your comment.
Anything with less than 50 up votes on the [FRESH] thread in the past month is fair game! Albums, videos, and songs are all accepted. This includes songs released before this month that were only posted this month. It can be your post or someone else’s.
If you aren't in a position to include the link itself just the title is fine, but like, help a guy out.
This wasn’t an issue last month but just to be safe I’ll only be adding five links per user to the main post. Feel free to link and gush about as many as you want in the comments though!
If you do comment more than five and want some specifically to be up here, indicate that, if not I’ll just arbitrarily pick some.
Avoid submitting things just to submit things! Be your own quality control. Post the songs that stuck with you all month, the songs that you really think other people would enjoy.
Underrated Releases:
Videos:
(Absurdist French Pop)Katerine - Stone Avec Toi: One of the more anticipated French albums out soon is Katerine's Confessions. After trolling the music industry for over 20 years (and winning an award for best French video in 2011 for showing his penis backlighted against a beach) he's back with a cheeky video to go with a "stoner philosopher" song about the hierarchies between humans/animals and men/women. (Alternative Pop/Hip-Hop)Tyler, The Creator - I Think: Tyler brings us another installment in the story of Igor, the main character of one of the most exciting albums of the year. Though the video doesn’t contain the full song, we get enough of that slammin’ beat and Tyler’s bars to get an understanding of this unusual bop. Tyler’s gravelly singing voice really stands out in the current pop scene. (Transcendent Synthpop)MIKA - Sanremo: Mika’s new album is one of the best pop albums of the year, and this piece of sun drenched synthpop is a standout. Mika’s voice is like fine caramel, the beat is addicting, and there’s all sorts of little touches like the subtle guitar that make this song sparkle. The video contrasts the cheerful nature of the song with a black and white tribute to Italian cinema and repressed homosexuality.
Songs:
(80s Inspired Pop)The Driver Era - A Kiss: This is a super fun song inspired by the 80s that reminded me of The Cure. Ross' vocals are very different than usual, bringing inspiration from the decade and it begins with a spoken sentence that really gives you the vibe as well, some spoken things continue to happen throught the song. The chorus is really catchy and the song is the type that could be amazing for karaoke... (Full Comment) (Chill Trap-ish Pop)Sammy - Let Me Be Sad!: I am an attention whore and this is my song and I just wanted more people to listen to it 😭😭😭 help get it to 5k streams it’s just a little trapish pop song but it got added to fresh finds on spotify so now I feel like it’s worth something. (Indie/Dance Fusion)Rex Orange County - Face to Face: The final track to drop before the release of his album Pony, and it certainly tempts me to listen to the whole thing! It starts off as a sort of an acoustic indie type of song but as it goes on it slowly transforms into an uptempo pseudo-disco dance track. The combination of the guitars and the beat is a winning combination. (Sweet Synth Pop)DJ Spoony ft. Lily Allen - Sweet Like Chocolate: This is actually a cover of an old UK hit from the ‘90s, so get your nostalgia here! The delicate, catchy bones of the original song are there but they’re given a fresh coat of paint and the result is a fun little treat. (Soulful Trap-Pop)Ella Henderson - Young: Ella Henderson’s Chapter One was a fantastic album but she got screwed by Syco and disappeared for four years but now she’s back and we are NOT gonna let her get ignored! This huge synth-heavy trap-pop ballad is the perfect showcase for her golden voice, and a great reminder of why fans were so eager for her return.
Albums/EPs:
(Synthpop/Electropop)Oscar Scheller - HTTP404 Oscar Scheller is a producer and vocalist based in London who's worked with Ashnikko (he produced her viral hit "Stupid"), Kero Kero Bonito, Charli XCX, and Brooke Candy, among many others. His own singing voice has drawn comparisons to Morrisey - it's nothing crazy, but still able to convincingly convey the modern-youth pathos of his lyrics. Still, the album is packed with features from Sarah Bonito, Lily Allen, Ashnikko, and others (there's only one solo track), and they all fit seamlessly into the glittering sonic landscape formed by Oscar's crisp, punchy production. (Relaxed Synth Pop)Anna of the North - Dream Girl: She did an AMA here and couldn’t even crack 50 upvotes. Stunning. I’ve seen this described as “synthpop that’s a bit of a throwback with a modern twist” and I can’t describe it any better than that. The synths are dreamy but she is AWAKE, just because it’s chill doesn’t mean she’s not coming for the necks of pop fans looking for a good time. It’s super cute! (Spirited R&B)Fantasia - Sketchbook: As a winner of American Idol, the first thing I have to mention about Fantasia is her voice. Her unique tone is instantly recognizable, she could sing anything and it would be listenable. In this case she’s singing songs she wrote about love and faith, to pretty good effect in my opinion. Some of the tracks lean towards more orchestral while others are more electronic, so your mileage may vary depending on what kind of r&b you like, but it’s a solid offering of songs that’s definitely worth a listen. (Art Pop)David Byrne - American Utopia on Broadway: ...IT EVEN HAS A COVER OF A JANELLE SONG, WHAT ELSE COULD YOU WANT?! But in general this album is just mixed so damn well. You can hear every note and every lyric and if you couldn’t get yourself to this tour, or to the show currently on Broadway this is the best damn way to experience. The setlist is just 👌🏻 All your favorite Talking Head songs are here as well as a nice mix of Byrne’s solo stuff. You’ll be constantly intrigued and constantly entertained. It is just a fun crisp album from front to back and you don’t want to miss this. (Full Comment) (Quirky/Genuine Pop)Anna Akana - Casualty: A YouTuber made an album that’s… good? Though the cracks inherent to an amateur musician are there, this project is a surprisingly enjoyable pop album that’s equal parts emo and uplifting. Though it contains a few shitpost worthy tracks (“Pretty Girls Don’t Cry” is a TRIP) the majority of the album is songs tastefully exploring darker themes, with a few bad bitch anthems thrown in. A grab bag of styles that include rock, electronic, rap, and acoustic, the writing and production are solid throughout and Akana actually carries the songs off very well. It’s also a visual album! (Soul Pop)Maximillian - Ripples EP: Maximillian's an artist who I've been waiting for an EP or album from since 2017. The EP does a good job at showcasing both his boppier side (On My Mind, Losing Everything) and his more emotional side (Ripples, Hold On), which is where the EP shines. It's a short EP at only 11 minutes with 4 songs, but it's a really good introduction Max as an artist. (Trash Pop)Simple Creatures - Everything Opposite EP: What happens when a pop punk icon gets super depressed and decides to start a side project with a protege? Meet Simple Creatures, the self-described "American Trash Pop" side project of Blink-182's Mark Hoppus and All Time Low's Alex Gaskarth... Everything Opposite, the project's second EP, dropped October 11th and shows the project finding its footing. As their work in their respective main projects shows, Alex and Mark have an incredible ability for writing catchy hooks that really shows with these more pop-oriented songs. (Full Comment)
Previous Threads:July / August / September As usual I have kicked us off with five of my own picks, plus a thread in each category that came close to (but didn’t hit) 50 up votes (at the time I made this list). Please, post your underrated threads below! I do personally listen to all of them (well, maybe not the full album) so I can guarantee you’ll get at least one listen. If you have suggestions for how this process could be improved feel free to post those too. And, as always, listen. Please, no Christmas songs.
New mod introduction and Meta discussion about the sub.
Introduction What? A few months ago, I was asked to join the modteam after asking and proposing some stuff in modmail. As I followed and contributed to the sub I accepted. Some of you may know me as a mod/submitteuser from other (music) subs. Why? I've been banging to techno since the 90's, so I'm probably a bit older as the average user. Don't worry, I still go to parties, clubs and festivals. What kind of music do you like? I listen to almost everything from Acid to Zouk. I like my Techno Raw, Wonky, Acidic but I enjoy it all. Do you produce? No, I just fuck around with a NI Machine and Pocket Operators 32 & 33. Can you dance to techno? Yes, I call it the wild chainsaw
New and modified rules (To discuss) https://www.reddit.com/techno/about/rules Since I started modding I enforced some rules and added some others based on how the community acted. Most of these rules have been working great and besides the users that were affected there haven't been any complaints. As on every sub I mod want to be transparent and hear your feedback and propositions. The following rules aren't 100% enforced. There have been and probably still will be exceptions. This can be discussed with us in modmail and I'll share examples.
Format: Artist - Track [Catalog# / Subgenre]* (Year)* *=optional
It's used on most music subs and makes it easier to crosspost
Users can easily distinguish the artist from the track name
It helps us distinguish bots and spam
Let the music speak for itself instead of attention grabbing buzzfeed titles and shitty emojis.
No Playlists: Do not post them. We would prefer if you just share a track you like. We have a weekly updated list of the top posts from Techno: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5gex4eBgWH9nieoVuV8hDC. (u/heatard has shared some exceptional and high effort playlists after asking us in modmail)
Limit on self Promotion
1/10 can be self promotion
There have been exceptions made which were discussed in modmail too. u/Hatesimon, u/Henningski. This largely depends on the activity of said users on the sub. u/Uunofficial is another good example
ID track belong in /tipofmytongue and/or /IdentifyThisTrack Only if they can't find it there after a week you can crosspost it to this sub and we'll see what we can do. As is usual, give as much info as possible.
No low quality (video) post. The party you experience is probably great, but the don't share short videos/reviews on this sub, put some effort in the posts and you'll get rewarded with good discussion s and karmaz. The same goes for simple questions. If you want to get some recommendations, we expect you to do some work too. Give us artists and/or songs and add some links. Current good example
What would you like? Here are some propositions I've thought of
Clean up the sidebar
Move some stuff to the wiki? a page for labels/podcasts/cities/shops/earplugs/wears
Replace IRC client with the community chat feature
Sticky every 23 hours or weekly?
23 hours would allow it to rotate around the different timezones. soccer does this too.
What kind of topics? General discussion, What to do this week
Flairs
Post: News/Discussion/Feedback Request/Recommend Me Simila Identify...
User: Artists? or let users choose one as a reward system.
Design of the sub? You probably noticed there have been some big changes here. Feel free to recommend some more.
Calendar widget for parties?
Hold contests with techno rated prices like the Gomboc one?
Sometimes I sticky some posts, like the sustainable festivals one, AMAs and petitions for clubs. Don't hesitate to ask us if you feel like we could help the techno cause
I already added some subs to the sidebar. Don't hesitate to recommend some other relevant ones.
If the other mods are okay with this I'll probably add a few extra mods. I prefer users with activity on the sub and preferably experience with Toolbox, RES, CSS, Html.
Shoutout to www.livesets.com users. It used to be a site where you could share livesets with other users around the world. I discovered so many artists and spent quite some time on the board. I'm sure there are others who knew it too and were active there as it had 100 000s of users.
There was a little discussion about a pre existing rule "No Memes". I'm in favour of keeping it and helping TechnoCirclejerk grow so that we have a fun place where we can just all wear black, hate on Drumcode and tell shitty EDM people how much deeper and pure techno is than their garbage.
Entitled Dad thinks his injured son is better than a fully fit team.
Hello everyone. 1st post or 2nd, idek anymore. Now to the backgrounds. LONG ONE! BG - So I was playing in this recreational soccer league for quite some time (i did get better at the game every season.) and I play the position of Goalkeeper, keep in mind, these goals are supposed to over sized to help increase the importance of agility and strength, making players with weak limbs out of the question for this position as eye to hand motion is essential and force to push the ball back is mandatory or else you would fall backwards. I just got promoted to Division 6 (There are divisions for each grade, but there are often times when a grade below us asks to play in the division above them. I was assigned to a new team, so I was really anxious at the 1st practice since introducing yourself as a new player and your position in a new team often scares your teammates that you will bench them if your really good, and that was the case for me. I told my new coach that I played in goal and that I can do things most goalies in my league wouldn't try, such as diving and rushing, things entitled kids are scared of cause they think they carry their teams to the top, and that's why they play a league under their grade. I begin to take a assessment of my skills with the casual 1v1s (Striker versus Goalkeeper) and Offense versus Defense, and then the original goalkeeper for the team (he was injured on his left foot, making him wear a cast of sorts.) does horribly and tried to mimic my skills of rushing and diving. He is the EK, and his dad, ED, is similar to that of a southern dad. So the practice finished, the team is happy I am in their roster and we had some chit chat about the original goalkeeper and how he always made them lose, and I told them I was gonna stop it. so our schedule is released. Our first match up was at 8:30 in the morning, but all fans of sports know that teams better arrive early to warm up and get ready. I get to the field at 8:10, in time for the team attendance check, and we start to take our warmup streches and so on, I start on the field as a debut for the team, we went on a 4-4-2 classic. I am only highlighting my first game, but the routine for warmups was the same year round and matches were often played under inclement, but not substantial, weather. We started pretty well, I kept catching the EK trying to go behind my goal and to point out tips for me, even though I played since division 3. I started to make good saves, such as the long ground leap to stop a incoming goal to the corner, and at some points I rushed and risked my fertility (yes, I did get hit at my balls the year after for rushing, but I am ok.) and made good stops on incoming 1v1s. We ended the 1st half on a 2-1 scoreline, with us in the lead, since this is a rec league, substitutions aren't strictly taken care of, since EPs in previous leagues complained of the bench. I was subbed off to the bench in halftime, with EK being excited and ready to show he was better than me, he got smacked in the face by the striker from the other team for rushing, and he rushed HEAD FIRST. EVERY GOALKEEPER IN FOOTBALL KNOWS, "YOUR HEAD SHOULD BE AWAY FROM THE BALL, AND YOUR LEGS SHOULD BE INTERCEPTING THE BALL. ONLY DIVING FOR THE BALL SHOULD BE HEAD FIRST." Enough banter, but he had to be subbed off 15 minutes into playing time for the second half. Did I mention he conceded 2 goals? so now we are down by 1 goal. We did get to tie the match at 4-4, but I still blame EK for his wreckless attempt at my skills. He tried everything that I done, even tried to mimic my callouts for the defenders. He got more playing time than me since I sprained 3 fingers on my 5th match and put me out for 3 games, leaving me to play the last game if we failed to stay at the top of the table. And that was the case. I heard that the game after I got injured, was the worst of the season, cause the EK said his defenders were crap and left the field without notifying the coach. The game ended 3-0 forfeit since we knew we had no chance. The games often ended with a point margin of 3 or more, so we lost our chance to the post season. I played the entire last game, GW9. We had our end-of-the-season ceremony, I was awarded the normal season Silver Glove award (it wasn't and actual silver glove, it was just a award trophy with the words "Silver Glove of Div 6" and my name on it. Here's where things start. Some point in the ceremony, EK had his medal called up (its the participation award of things.) and the ED (father of the EK goalkeeper) said that his son had more playing time as goalie and deserved a goalkeeper award. The Division staff said that coaches send nominations for each time, not them. ED had a chat with the coach and things seemed to go south. The ED walks up to me, with my defenders chatting about the next season. ED - Give me that award and take your name off of it. ME - I earned this award, even though I got injured.. ED - Exactly. My son played more than you and did even more saves! ME - Has your son finally learned to slide with his feet and not his head? ED then gets to my ear. ED - LISTEN YOU RUTHLESS PUNK, IF YOU TALK JACK SHIT ABOUT MY SON AGAIN, I WILL GET YOU SUSPENDED FROM THIS LEAGUE INDEFINITELY. I was laughing my ass off with my defenders after the encounter. I see a Division staff walk up to me. (DS) DS - Did you call this man a "sack of shit" and a "dickhead"? ME - No. He did however insult me so I did resort to "treat others the way you want to be treated" clause. Defender #1 - He used a curse word too. Defender #2 - He also harassed him for his award. DS - Ok. I am so sorry about that. I will talk to them about it. I see ED and EK speaking to DS. EK started to cry as his medal was stripped from him. We never saw them again. I went to the league office, and the record shows that they were placed on a restraining order from the league and the camps indefinitely. Luke, if your out there, slide with your feet first. TL;DR - I get a new team, I impress team coach, Original player gets mad, I get injured. Original player costs us the post season, Original player tries to take my award, he gets banned from the league.

What happened to them? Minx (밍스) was a K-Pop girl group that consisted of JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Yoohyeon and Dami. Their official debut on September 18, 2014. Their title tracks were "Why Did You Come To My Home?" and "Love Shake." In November 2016, Happyface Entertainment announced that the five Minx members would re-debut as Dreamcatcher with the addition of two new members, Handong and Gahyeon. What does the fandom name 'InSomnia' mean? InSomnia means 'In Dreams.' It is made up of 'In' and 'Somnia' (Latin for dreams in plural form). According to Happyface Entertainment, InSomnia represents that "Dreamcatcher and fans will have a happy time together in their dreams, with the meaning of being together forever." (7 Dreamers Trans) InSomnias nicknames given by Dreamcatcher: Somnyas (썸냐), Somdoongies (썸둥이) JiU (지유)
Why do they have nightmare themes? They have nightmare themes because each member has chosen a nightmare they want to represent. (Source). The images of their nightmares are from photo cards from their '악몽 (惡夢)' and '악몽·Fall asleep in the mirror' single albums. Here is a video from their 1st Seoul concert "Welcome To The Dream World" that displays each of the member's nightmare theme. Why only those positions listed above? Shouldn't they have more? The positions listed above are the ones Dreamcatcher has used in their introductions. For Handong and Gahyeon, I have decided to put the position of Sub Vocalist. In Korea, it's known as Sub Vocal (서브보컬). The reason for my choice is that many Korean sources have listed this position with Handong and Gahyeon. (Source 1)(Source 2) Each member does have more positions within the group but these are the ones are used by Dreamcatcher and Korean sources.
These releases are a part of the 'Nightmare' series.
'악몽' and '惡夢' means 'Nightmare.' So the English titles are 'Nightmare,' 'Nightmare·Fall asleep in the mirror' and 'Nightmare·Escape The ERA.'
An Extended Play is called a Mini Album in K-Pop.
'Full Moon' was a digital single for Dreamcatcher and InSomnias to celebrate the first anniversary of Dreamcatcher since their debut. (Source)
'악몽·Escape The ERA' is the end of the 'Nightmare' series. (Source 1) (Source 2)
The 'Chase Me,' 'GOOD NIGHT,' '날아올라 (Fly High),' 'Full Moon' and 'YOU AND I' music videos are supposedly connected in terms of story.
So what is the whole story or timeline for the 'Nightmare' series? Currently, there is not an official explanation of the overall story or a timeline of the music videos provided by Dreamcatcher or Happyface Entertainment for the 'Nightmare' series. There are known details about the 'Chase Me' and 'GOOD NIGHT' music videos provided by the leader JiU. For 'Chase Me,' she says that all of the 7 members are haunting the hunter Jo Dong Hyuk as nightmares. For 'GOOD NIGHT,' she says that Dami, Handong and herself saved the other members from the hunter by trapping him in the mirror. (Source) Even though details are few, fans have speculated many theories about each music video, the overall story and timeline. Please watch the music videos and have a go at speculating the story behind each music video, the overall story and timeline of the 'Nightmare' series. (If anyone has more official information about these topics that I have missed, please PM me.)

Here is an detailed explanation of the hi-touch event.
Note: Many V Live videos (including 'Dreamcatcher's Note' videos) are subbed by Owl Subs and others.
What is V LIVE? V Live is an application that allows Korean celebrities (K-pop idols, actors, etc) to broadcast live to everyone, usually to fans. There is a comment section and a 'like' button in the form of hearts. In Dreamcatcher's case, the members would broadcast themselves to InSomnias, talking and interacting with them. After Dreamcatcher has ended their V Live session, a VOD replay will be uploaded afterwards. Fans can then create subtitles to these videos. You can view all these videos on on their channel on PC, phone or tablet. You can watch free on the V Live website but a V Live account is required to access the Android and iOS applications. It's free to download and to make an V Live account. Is it just V Live broadcasts? What about other videos? V LIVE also allows videos to be uploaded onto their application. For Dreamcatcher, they can upload videos such as teasers, music videos, song covers just like on YouTube. Does Dreamcatcher schedule their V LIVE broadcasts? Yes, Happyface Entertainment will provide announcements on Dreamcatcher's social media beforehand for their upcoming planned V Live broadcasts. However, Dreamcatcher could also do unplanned or spontaneous V Live broadcasts which are generally called surprise V Live broadcasts. A good way to get notified of all their V Live sessions is make a V Live account, follow the Dreamcatcher V Live channel and turn on notifications in the settings. By doing this, every time Dreamcatcher is live on V Live, you will get notified. Why are there some V LIVE videos not English subbed? The English subtitles are made by the fans on V Live. It is open to the community but it also has dedicated fansub teams like OwlSubs. It takes a lot of time and hard work to make English subs. Some V Live videos are long, up to an hour. Some videos take priority over other videos. Some videos are subbed due to the preference of the English subbeEnglish fansub team. MIXNINE
What was MIXNINE? MIXNINE was a K-Pop idol survival reality show created by YG Entertainment Yang Hyun Suk, Produce 101's Han Dong Chul and JTBC. The objective of the show was to create an idol group with contestants from various entertainment agencies. The final part of the show was a competition between a team of nine male contestants and a team of nine female contestants. The winning team would debut as an idol group under YG Entertainment. Dreancatcger
What is Dreancatcger? Dreancatcger is an inside joke within the Dreamcatcher international fandom. It refers to the misspelling of Dreamcatcher's name made by Mnet K-POP YouTube channel on the title and video description on Dreamcatcher's 'GOOD NIGHT' comeback stage on 'M Countdown' dated April 6, 2018. The misspelling is still there. Fans have started using the misspelt name as a joke. Various examples include 'Dreancatcger is my favourite girl group', 'Dreamcatcher is copying Dreancatcger', 'Dreancatcger is better than Dreamcatcher.' The main usage I have seen used to make Dreamcatcher seem like imposters while Dreancatcger is the "real" one or "better" girl group. But yeah, that's the whole joke. Apologies if the explanation was meh, I tried my best. Initially, fans got really annoyed at Mnet for misspelling it due to the fact that Dreamcatcher already appeared on 'M Countdown' for 'Chase Me' performances, so they have should known the right way to spell it.
